Fifty-two kilometres, groomed for skate and for classic
The BV Nordic Centre sits on Crown land under a partnership agreement with Recreation Sites & Trails BC. The network runs to 52 km, groomed for both styles, with a concrete underpass carrying it beneath Hudson Bay Mountain Road and a biathlon range out to the west.

Not one style or the other — the whole network, both ways
Fifty-two kilometres, groomed for skate and set for classic. Plenty of clubs this size pick one and let the other look after itself. Doing both across a network this long is a real commitment of machine time, and it is the reason a skate skier and a classic skier from the same household can go out together on the same afternoon.
The club has not published a grooming schedule or a daily conditions report, so this concept does not show one. It would be the single most-read line on a real site.

A range, a race season and a tunnel under the road
Three things here are unusual for a volunteer club, and all three are worth saying out loud rather than burying in a facilities list.

A concrete underpass carries the trails beneath Hudson Bay Mountain Road, so nobody has to take skis off and cross a road on foot.

The main building at the centre — where a club of this size does most of the things a club does.

The caretaker cabin
A caretaker cabin on site. Somebody lives with this place through the winter, which is not true of most trail networks.

The wax hut
Somewhere warm to wax and change. One of the club’s wax huts is named for Gary Murdoch.
The timing hut
There is a timing hut on site, and a biathlon range cabin west of the main facility. A club that builds a timing hut is a club that intends to keep running races. The club has not published a race calendar, opening hours or rental information, so this concept invents none of it.

In a real build this is where the trail map would sit — zoomable, downloadable, readable on a phone with gloves on. We have deliberately left it out of this concept, and we have not invented trail names, grades or distances that the club has not published. All we have is the total: 52 km.

The network runs both sides of Hudson Bay Mountain Road
The trails pass beneath Hudson Bay Mountain Road through a concrete underpass, and the biathlon range sits west of the main facility. That is what the club has published about the layout of the place, and it is all this concept says about it.
That is a post box, not a street address, and it is the address the club publishes. Driving directions, a pin on a map and the parking situation are the first three things a real build would add — and the club would have to supply them.
